Who is Sachin Vaze?
Sachin Vaze was an assistant police inspector who was suspended 17 years ago after being arrested in the custodial death of a 27-year-old software engineer Khwaja Yunus. He later joined Shiv Sena and was an active member of the party.
After Shiv Sena came into power, they cited the reason of COVID-19 to re-instate him to his post but placed him in the Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Police.
“Vaze was suspended by the Bombay High Court for 16 years. When I was CM, Shiv Sena leaders demanded to revoke his suspension. The new government took him back giving an excuse of COVID-19. He was made Crime Intelligence Unit’s chief and was given major cases,” said Fadnavis.
Details of the Case
A Mahindra Scorpio was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s house ‘Antilia’ which had a large number of gelatin sticks in it. There was a note found in the car for Mukesh Ambani and his family, threatening to kill them.
This case was handed to Sachin Vaze by the state government of Maharashtra.
When investigated, the car belonged to a Thane businessman Mansukh Hiran. A few days ago, Mansukh Hiran was found dead. The case is being investigated by Mumbai ATS Cell.
Now Mansukh Hiran’s wife has written a letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray accusing Sachin Vaze to be the murderer of Mansukh Hiran. After receiving this letter the leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis demanded the immediate removal of Sachin Vaze from the case. Sachin Vaze was later removed from the case.
Now NIA (National Investigating Agency) took over the case and the first thing they did was to arrest Sachin Vaze.
Why was Sachin Vaze Arrested?
The Mahindra Scorpio which was found outside Antilia was being used by Sachin Vaze for the past few months.
Sachin Vaze was a close friend of Mansukh Hiran and he had given his car to Sachin Vaze to use.
The second car which was used in this operation is a government vehicle used by the Intelligence Team of Mumbai Police.
NIA has collected all this evidence against Sachin Vaze and the court has also granted them custody of Sachin Vaze till 25th March 2021.
Sachin Vaze Confesses the Crime?
It is being reported in Media that Sachin Vaze has confessed that he was a part of the Antilia Bomb Scare, but he is also said that he is just the tip of the iceberg and there are many big players involved in this case.
If this statement is anything to go by then we can suspect that few high-level officers, as well as few politicians might be involved in this case, who are currently sitting in the government.
Arnab Goswami Connection?
Sachin Vaze was the police officer that went to arrest Arnab Goswami at his place. Sachin Vaze went with an AK-47 to arrest a media journalist and he dragged Arnab Goswami in front of his wife and children to take him to the police station.
But the big talking point is the report that says Sachin Vaze was using the same Mahindra Scorpio at the time of Arnab’s arrest which was found outside the Antilia.
Sachin Vaze has Multiple Big Businesses?
There have been reports that Sachin Vaze has many businesses in partnership with other Shiv Sena leaders. This news was shared by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya who claimed that the tainted Mumbai Police officer has more than 6 businesses.
“Sachin Vaze has more than 6 businesses – Multibuild Infraprojects Limited, Techlegal Solutions Pvt Ltd, DGNext Multimedia Limited, and others. Who were the business partners? Shiv Sena leaders Sanjay Mashelkar and Vijay Gawai,” said Somaiya.
What’s Next?
So as you can see there are so many different angles that are emerging in this case. The biggest industrialist in India getting a death threat. NIA arresting a Mumbai Cop in this case with evidence. Mumbai Cop confesses his crime. He has connections with several Shiv Sena leaders. CM Uddhav Thackeray coming out and doing a press conference to vouch for Sachin Vaze before he was arrested.
There is something bigger under all of this. We hope that the NIA works honestly and uncovers the full truth behind this. People are losing their faith in the Justice system. We hope NIA and the courts can help restore that faith and bring the culprits behind the bars.
