Six people are dead and several injured after a foot over-bridge outside the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station in Mumbai collapsed. This accident happened on Thursday evening (14th March 2019).
Now inquiry has been called for and some oppositions are asking for Railway Minister Piyush Goyal to resign and what not.
Just think about the fellow Indians who have lost their lives in this accident. The families that will be affected by this accident. Is it even an accident – or just another example of inefficiency of government officials.
It has been found out that after the last bridge collapsing incident in Mumbai, BMC ordered auditing of all the foot bridges in Mumbai. The foot bridge that collapsed today was also audited. The report says that it just needs some minor repairing. What???
If this is the standard of auditing reports then its better they don’t do it.
Either this is a case of corrupt officials not interested in doing honest work or it can be a case of total negligence and laziness.
Whatever might be the case but they didn’t think human life using these foot bridges are of any value.
Government officials either know that they can get away with anything, even playing with fellow Indian’s lives or they don’t know how to do their jobs – properly. In either case they are not fit to be in that position.
Now no matter how anyone is feeling and what corrective measures can be taken – nothing of this matters – all now you will see and hear is politicians taking this news as a fuel to keep their machinery running. And how insensitive our politicians are – this will be seen by the remarks/comments they’ll make on this accident. Just wait & watch.
I just want to share my anger and sadness. Loss of any fellow Indian is a loss of nation. My prayers with the families and may god give them strength to cope up with the loss of their loved ones.
