The line which cannot be crossed during a protest has been crossed twice now in a short span of 1 month.
Today i.e Republic Day 26th Jan 2021 : The so-called farmer protest has taken another ugly turn. They have gone back on their words of having a peaceful march after 12pm on the Republic Day and follow the path that was finalized for the Tractor Rally.
The protesters have come with swords and bars against the Delhi Police. They broke all the barricades and are now inside the Red Fort hoisting the Indian flag along with a Khalistani Flag. Destroying buses and other public property in the process. I am surprised by the restrain of the Delhi Police. They have not taken any strict action yet on any of the miscreant. I don’t know what orders they are receiving but it is giving these violent protesters free hand to do whatever they want. Being an Indian citizen I don’t want any of my fellow citizen getting hurt, be it a police officer or the protesters. But these protesters are political party goons who are overtaking the protest and causing disruption and harm to public property.
This is exactly what happened at Capitol Hill few weeks back. Where the hooligans overtook the Capitol Hill after a politically driven speech was given by Donald Trump.
Some places are sacred in terms of country image and significance. I don’t know if the so-called neutral media will draw this similarity between the two events because it will not suit their agendas but letting people protest in an illegal manner needs to stop. There are places and there are rules that needs to be followed even when protesting which the government should ensure, but it seems that everyone is playing politics and trying to be on a safe side to avoid any kind of political damage.
The government has agreed to all the changes with which the protest started from MSP to Mandi to Fine on burning, etc. But still the protest continues as it seems to be serving a lot of political people a fuel for their agenda.
Laws cannot be made on road, for that the parliament is there. If the law is not acceptable as a whole then choose a government next time which will reverse these laws. It is not that difficult if you have the numbers.
This needs to end before another Delhi riot kind of thing happens. Wake up before it is too late.
