Leo Messi finally broke his silence and also the internet with his interview to Goal.com
Leo Messi has decided to stay at FC Barcelona but with a broken and heavy heart. The club was home to this genius for over 20 years. The club has given everything to him and he has given everything to this club. Now that the player wants to move out then he is being treated as a prisoner.
He wanted to leave FC Barcelona for sometime now but everytime his love for his club stops him. We all know that since the departure of Neymar this club has been doing all things wrong. No project, no vision, no direction. Its only Messi who has been saving this club every now and then. Now when he wants to move out – the board and the director is blocking it.
Messi contract has a clause where he can leave the club at the end of the season. He informed the club of leaving few days after their last match and now they are saying that you should have informed by 10 June. Everyone knows that the season was extended due to the Wuhan Virus Pandemic. Now they are using this Pandemic situation to block his transfer. This is how they are treating their Greatest Player of All Time.
They are not having a team and management to fight for the top spot – they are not letting him go – why would someone be happy in such a situation. These kinds of situations just kills the love of the sport and makes it all but a business.
Messi’s Transfer to some other club would have benefitted both the player and FC Barcelona
Messi is 33 but still the best player in the world. He wants to leave for the lack of a sporting project. FC Barcelona is a team where the average age is 31years. FC Barcelona needs a total overhaul. New and Young players should but bought in. A new life needs to be injected in this club which is dying a painful death. For all this, money would be required.
Leo Messi has almost a 100 Million Euros annual salary. Which the club can get rid-of if they sell Messi.
They can talk to Messi and negotiate a price. They should get around 100 million Euros for his transfer to another club. This way they practical will have 200 Euros at their disposal to buy new players to bring new life to this club.
This will be a Win-Win situation as the player will get what he desires and will also benefit the club.
On the flip side if he stays for another season then not only he will go for free – but also we don’t know how an unhappy Messi will perform and affect the dressing room. We know that Messi is a professional and has a winning mentality but still, he will be scrutinized for the smallest of things and this will affect the player and the dressing room a lot.
Don’t know how things will turn out but I am really sad to see Messi being treated like this. He is the Greatest Player Ever to Play Football and now the club at which he has played all his life is treating him like this. Very sad!
