Rajjan Mittal, managing director PWD department Uttar Pradesh. A man who faces corruption charges and was removed from his post during Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure as CM. He was brought back to the post as soon as BJP came into power and on top of that was given additional charge of UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam. So it means a man who was removed because of corruption charges now heads 2 corporations. Great!
Surprisingly both these corporations are headed by deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. As soon as he was handed over these corporations, Rajjan Mittal was reinstated. And in a few days handed over the UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam corporation also. By the way UPSBC (UP State Bridge Corporation) is also headed by Mr.Maurya.
In February this year, Keshav Prasad Maurya removed the Principal Secretary, PWD from the chairman post of UPRNN and appointed himself on that coveted post. (A post where an IAS cadre officer resides is now being handled by a politician). This is the first time ever that a minister has taken the post of Chairman of UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam (UPRNN).
Bridge Corporation already questions the re-entry of Rajjan Mittal to the post of Managing Director PWD. They were really worried and surprised at the appointments of less experienced project managers especially in the constituency of PM Modi.
Now the bridge collapse in Varanasi is an example how much they value our life over their own profitable gains.
We can only hope that life of an ordinary citizen is valued more and corruption does not become a reason again for the losses of our fellow-Indian lives.
